The idea to bring out one of the least known gems in one of the best known Indian instrument is commendable. One small suggestion.. If you stick to the original Chord backings on the soft strings, that would have been great... For instance, "Man Peridha" is D while "Uyir Peridha" is F# minor.. setting completely different chords to adjacent lines of same melody is an area where Ilaiyaraaja has done Bachelors, Masters and Phd.. This is one of his hallmark composing techniques..
Try this progression for those lines and see the sudden break that you will feel at the "Uyir Peridha"..
